I am a self- taught artist and have been painting consistently since 2015 after my three birds left the nest. Although I am relatively new to painting as an art form, creative art has played a consistent role in one form or another for as long as I can remember.
Acrylic paint is my medium of choice with some use of gouache. I love the vibrancy of the colors and the simple water clean-up. Also, acrylics can be used in different ways to look like watercolors or very intense and graphic. Someone once told me that my style is "conceptually realistic" and I think that accurately describes it.
For the most part I like clean lines and rich paint colours.
Subjects may vary, but they must evoke an emotion to me first before I ever begin to paint.
Water has played a larger role in my art in recent years because of how varied its' form can be.
It also often plays a big role in vacation getaways because of how it allows us to feel a sense of calm and that our troubles are left behind- even if only for a moment!
Land and waterscapes of the area around me and simple pleasures also find their way into my work.
